Digital Content Deveopment Course for Teachers and Professionals

Recently Government of Bangladesh has taken an initiative to introduce ICT based education as reform in the education system at secondary level. Development and practices of digital content at secondary level are comparatively a new idea in the institutional framework of education in Bangladesh. ICT and pedagogical knowledge of the teachers is essential to make effective multimedia classroom. The vision of government is to provide opportunity of practicing technology to all students and enabling teaching learning environment to them. So that they can face the future challenges of globalization.
The aims of the Digital Content are to help the students for better understanding of the topic in a systematic way, to make the learning more interesting and enjoyable for students, to motivate students to more self-managed learner and to be more creative and innovative in teaching.

On completion of this Digital Content Development Course Teachers will be able to make powerful and relevant PowerPoint presentations including graphics and videos for classes.

Getting started with Computer:
Understanding Computer and Basic Organization, Operating System, Importance of an operating system, Introduction the features of windows 7- desktop icon, taskbar, Clicking and dragging, Opening and closing windows, Tool bar, Introducing Start menu options, Running program from start menu. Identifying File, Folder and Drive, Open a new file/Folder, Search for an existing file, folders in a drive/Folder, Change location of files.

Working with Presentation Software:
Opening a new Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation file in a new Folder, Working with new slide, Text and animation, Applying Theme, Inserting Images, Applying Transitions, Checking Spelling , Presenting Slideshow, Saving and Printing.

Use of Internet for Digital Content:
Mozilla fire fox/ Internet explorer/ Google Chrome/ Safari, Search through Google, Yahoo, and Bing. YouTube: To search, downloading videos/images, Editing video clips or Images and link with Slide.

Basic Internet and Social networking:
Creating Email account: Gmail, Yahoo, Live; E-mail send and receive with attached file; forwarding files, to introduce with Inbox, Sent Mail, Drafts, Group Email, CC, and BCC, Creating account- National Teachers registration portal, uploading and downloading content, video calling using Skype/Yahoo Messenger/Facebook, Printing Web Content from Internet, Downloading various software, Documents, Image, Audio, Video etc

Teaching methodology:
Lecture, Exercise, Practical Demonstration, Presentation from participants.100% lab oriented training.
